The late Mr. and Mrs. Karigiannis established a trust fund in their will. One of the objectives of the Trust is to identify and financially assist a few students whose ancestry is derived from a dependent and/or a citizen of Arahova Village "Ai Karyai", Province of Laconia, Greece.

In order to qualify for an award, the student:

1. should preferably be a resident of Canada, but the Trust is not prohibited from selecting a student who is not ordinarily a resident of Canada; and
2. must attend or intend to attend a recognized degree granting university, community college or polytechnic institute for undergraduate or post-graduate studies; and
3. must have displayed proven academic ability or potential.
